Stonewater has signed a new energy efficiency retrofit contract with compliance and energy services provider Correct Contract Services.

This work, funded through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 2, will include a range of energy-saving upgrades. Measures such as loft insulation, new PVC windows, low-energy lighting, and air source heat pumps will be installed to enhance the energy efficiency of Stonewater customers’ homes.

Stonewater customers across Bournemouth, Swanage, and Poole will benefit from these improvements, which are designed to maximise heat retention and reduce energy costs. The upgrades will also improve the homes’ Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings, bringing properties currently rated D, E, and F up to a minimum of Band C.

In addition to the work on these 110 homes, retrofit projects have begun at Stonewater’s Keeble Road and Keeble Crescent developments in Bournemouth as part of a broader effort to enhance the energy efficiency of its homes.

These projects align with Stonewater’s environmental strategy, which includes achieving a minimum EPC Band C for all homes by 2030 and reaching net zero carbon by 2050.

Patrick Chauvin, Stonewater’s Executive Director of Homes, Assets, and Sustainability, said: “Retrofitting should be a priority across the social housing sector, and it’s something we’re proud to champion at Stonewater. Our new contract with Correct Contract Services enables us to deliver vital energy-saving upgrades to customers’ homes in Dorset, reducing energy use and advancing our sustainability goals.

“The funding we’ve received through the SHDF allows us to future-proof over 100 properties for current and future residents while significantly reducing our carbon footprint.”

Danny Gladwyn, Managing Director at Correct Contract Services, added: “It’s fantastic to be working with Stonewater on this SHDF-funded scheme, further strengthening our long-standing partnership. We’re delighted to play a role in delivering critical improvements for customers and supporting Stonewater’s sustainability objectives.”

In addition to these efforts, Stonewater recently received the SHIFT Gold Award for the third consecutive year, recognising its environmental achievements over the past 12 months.
