Robert Whyte house, Bickley

Robert Whyte House is our Sheltered + scheme for the over 55s. Based in Bickley, the scheme is just two miles from Bromley town centre. There is a bus stop outside the scheme with links to Pettswood, Orpingdon and Bromley. The project is for elderly people who want to retain their independence but have the opportunity to call for assistance if required.

There are 33 bedsits, a one bedroom flat and a two bedroom flat at the scheme.

The scheme has the support of a scheme manager and other support staff Monday to Friday. There is also an emergency warden call system linked to a central control centre.

Accomodation is let unfurnished. Residents can bring their own furniture and decorate their flat to their own taste.

The weekly charge includes rent, council tax, service charges and two meals a day.

Facilities at the scheme include a hairdresser, resident run shop, library, chiropodist, optician, dentist, laundry, communal kitchenette, communal showers and assisted bathrooms and a lift.
