Running a business from home

You may be able to run a business from home as long as it is legally registered and does not disrupt your neighbours.

The answer is yes (for most business requests). You can run a business from home as long as:

  • it is legally registered
  • it does not cause any disruption to your neighbours (e.g. late night noise, parking of lots of vehicles, etc.)
  • it will not cause any damage to your property
  • you do not display any advertising/signage on your property.

If you own all/part of your home, please contact us with the details of the business you'd like permission for, and we will check your lease and any scheme covenants. Please note there is an admin charge should this be approved.

Examples of businesses that we do allow are:

  • cosmetics
  • hairdressing
  • food takeaway/delivery (delivery-only options, not if people are visiting)
  • tattooing
  • childminding
  • gardening
  • dog walking
  • floristry
  • home baking
  • crafts

Please note that if there are problems or complaints, we may withdraw permission to run your business from your home.
