Claiming benefits

If you’re claiming benefits, or think you might need to in the future, then the best place to go for information is the Government website.

You can also visit Citizens Advice for an A-Z of benefits. You’ll find everything from how benefits payments are made, to how to deal with challenges and appeals.

To check you are receiving everything that you are entitled to you can check your benefits entitlement using a benefits calculator, like EntitledTo, Turn2us or the Government's website. 

Cost of living payments

The government has extended its cost of living support into 2023 and 2024 for people on certain benefits or tax credits.

If you are eligible for these payments they will be paid to you automatically. Visit the Government's website to find out more and check if you are eligible.
