We want a volunteer who can help older people by addressing the exclusion, social isolation and loneliness many older people experience by increasing their social contacts and improving the amount and range of social activity available for individuals to participate in.

Your main aim will be to increase social activity by Identifying and building relationships with organisations that provide social inclusion and social activity services to older people. You will then help in supporting with the involvement of external facilitators from the local community to provide a range of activities. Examples include art clubs, book clubs, cards or other game sessions, craft sessions, coffee mornings, music and singing groups, garden clubs, memory (improvement) games – keeping the mind active, exercise classes, pamper days, hairdressing, manicures and pedicures; snooker tournaments and quizzes.

This is a great opportunity to support your local community, meet some amazing people and help others increase their social contacts and benefit from an improved range of social activity and overall wellbeing. You can volunteer from just one hour a week.

The role involves working with vulnerable adults and as such Stonewater will require appropriate background checks, ie via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
