Active Ageing & Health Engagement Volunteer

We’re looking for someone who is a strong listener and an excellent communicator, with outstanding interpersonal skills, and a natural ability to teach and motivate others.

We want a volunteer who can help older people, while promoting a healthy lifestyle, improving mental wellbeing, encouraging the self-management of long-term health conditions—and reducing the likelihood of winter sickness, and associated risk factors while committing to Stonewater’s policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of long-term health conditions, and an understanding of how lifestyle factors can have an impact on health. An individual with a background in coaching and advocacy, for health and lifestyle related issues, would be ideal—complimented by a knowledge of mental health, winter sickness prevention, and the uses of assistive technology.

This opportunity comes with a number of training options and the chance to obtain a recognised qualification. You can volunteer from just one hour a week.

The role involves working with vulnerable adults and as such Stonewater will require appropriate background checks, ie via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
