The leading social housing provider is part of the largest Homes England Strategic Partnership, using £224 million in grant funding to build 4,500 high-quality, affordable homes alongside the Guinness Partnership by 2022.

Jonathan Layzell, Executive Director – Development at Stonewater, said: “In his time at Hyde Housing, Peter has demonstrated he is an innovator keen to explore new ways of maximising the construction of affordable housing.

“Allied to his background in fund management and ability to forge development partnerships, Peter’s appointment to lead Homes England is a brilliant boost to the housing sector.”

Jonathan added: “As an existing Homes England Strategic Partner, we know the positive impact creative approaches to affordable house building can have on allowing us to create stronger, more attractive places to live. The long-term nature of the Strategic Partnership funding has allowed us to accelerate our plans and build more affordable homes than would otherwise have been the case. It is central to our ability to work with our partners to support the economic and social recovery from the pandemic.

"We very much look forward to working with Peter when he joins Homes England in September and supporting him and his team to deliver on the aims of the £12.2 billion Affordable Homes Programme funding for 2021-26.”
