Stonewater named in top 25 housing associations to work for list

Best Companies and 24housing have revealed the top 25 housing associations to work for in the UK on 1 March, with Stonewater as 25th best housing association to work for. This is a significant accomplishment for the leading affordable home provider, following their recent ranking of 78th in The Sunday Times best not-for-profit companies to work for in the UK 2019 list last month.

The Sunday Times have been recognising the top 100 employers in the UK since 2001. The list of the top 25 housing associations to work has been recognised for three consecutive years.

The list, published annually by 24housing magazine, represents the 25 Arms-length management organisations (ALMOS) or housing associations with the highest index scores based on the satisfaction of their employees. This year’s prestigious list includes the leading national housing association Stonewater. The affordable home provider has participated in the survey since 2016 and has quickly achieved a top 100 position in the not-for-profit list and a top 25 position in the housing sector.

Among the eight main factors being assessed, Stonewater excelled in the My Manager, My Team and Personal Growth categories. The housing association stood out for its leadership model, a six-month programme broken into four modules and its Team Talks. Stonewater was also recognised for a number of schemes for the staff such as Leadership Development Programme and a four-day training course.

Stonewater’s CEO, Nick Harris said: “I am really proud of Stonewater colleagues for receiving this award along with other affordable home providers. This is truly an amazing achievement. In 2015, when Stonewater was founded, our ambition was to be one of the Best Companies to work for by 2021, we are thrilled to have not only made the top 100 not-for-profit list, but also the top 25 housing list ahead of our planned schedule. I am proud to lead Stonewater, an organisation with a defined social purpose that also cares deeply about employee engagement.”

Stonewater’s Director of HR Jenny Sawyer said: “I first would like to compliment and congratulate our colleagues. Without their hard work and active engagement, this huge milestone would never have been possible. It is a real honour to have been named as one of the Top 25 housing associations to work for. Housing is an important issue for the UK and I am glad that Best Companies recognises the importance of our sector. It is great to see Stonewater shining in the My Manager, My Team and Personal Growth categories. That is the ultimate testimony to Stonewater’s strong leadership team who genuinely care about individual employee’s wellbeing and growth while valuing the integrity of teamwork.”
