Stonewater introduces Stonewater Homes for open market customers

Social housing provider Stonewater has introduced Stonewater Homes, a specialist service for its home ownership and market rent customers. Stonewater Homes will sell, manage and maintain Stonewater’s open market homes and estates and provide after sales services.

“Stonewater Homes is a new dedicated service for customers whose needs are not met by the wider open market but have the aspiration to own their own home,” explains Sue Shirt, Stonewater’s Executive Director for Housing. “Our new turnkey service aims to provide quality, value for money services to all of our customers at every stage in their journey.”

“Our home ownership, rent to buy and full market rent products have an important part to play in the Stonewater business,” says Sue. “As a social housing provider, our ability to support people into affordable homeownership, which is an aspirational goal for many members of our communities, is vital in tackling the housing challenges felt in society.”

The new business will market and manage Stonewater’s premium housing products including all home ownership, rent to buy and intermediate and market rent products.

New website

A brand-new website,, has been launched to support the service and showcase Stonewater properties for sale and rent across the country. The site offers digital self-service options for customers to buy and sell their homes online as well as purchase further shares in their properties, request consent, extend their lease and check their rent and service charge account. Stonewater Homes is aiming for 70% of all transactions to be carried out via its MyHome self-service digital portal by 2020.

“Our new dedicated website is designed to support and provide services which our customers can access quickly, at any time, from the comfort of their own home. It’s an easy-to-use online platform where anyone can browse new homes for sale, homes for resale and available market rent homes,” explains Sue Shirt. “The new easy-to-use site is also an information and advice hub. It has an online portal MyHome where existing customers can sign in and access secure personal information about their property, view previous transactions and bill breakdowns, update their contact details, report a repair and much more.”

Stonewater Homes, which has its own unique logo and corporate identity, is designed to be an aspirational and commercially-focused brand aimed at more affluent and digitally-savvy customer groups.
