Stonewater Hereford move set to boost local affordable housing

Leading social housing provider Stonewater has moved its regional offices from Leominster to new premises in Hereford. The move, celebrated with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, is part of the organisation’s office rationalisation programme that will create efficiency savings which can be reinvested into customer services and building more affordable homes across Herefordshire and the surrounding counties.

The smart new 1,800 sq ft offices at Broadway House in Broad Street will be home to 31 local staff, providing a base for Stonewater’s Housing and Assets teams who support the organisation’s 4,600 homes across Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Shropshire.

Flexibly designed to accommodate more efficient digital working, Stonewater’s new Broadway House premises provide a mix of work-stations, hot-desks, drop-in work areas, meeting rooms with video conferencing facilities, relaxation and break-out spaces, and a staff kitchen/dining area.

“We’re delighted to be in Hereford in this fantastic new office accommodation that will not only provide a comfortable, more efficient and high-quality working environment for our hard-working regional team, but also create significant overhead and efficiency savings which we can reinvest into creating more affordable housing and looking after our customers,” says Stonewater Chairman George Blunden. “I’d like to thank our staff for making this move as seamless as possible and I wish them every success as we work towards achieving our vision for everyone to have the opportunity to have a place they can call home.”

Deputy Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Sue Boulter says: “I would like to thank Stonewater for inviting me to the opening of these new premises in Broadway House. It has given me great pleasure to unveil this plaque on behalf of Hereford City Council and we wish Stonewater continued success in their new premises in Hereford.”

Stonewater currently owns and manages 339 homes in Hereford and 2,380 homes across Herefordshire.
