Stonewater announces executive changes
As part of its ongoing transformation, Stonewater, one of the UK’s leading social housing providers, has announced changes to its existing Executive Director Group.
Reporting structures for Stonewater’s three regional housing divisions are being streamlined under a single Housing Directorate, to be led by Sue Shirt (currently Executive Director West division). Sue will take up her new post on 1 September this year. Stuart Shore, Executive Director East and North, will leave Stonewater at the end of this year under voluntary redundancy.
Scott Baxendale, Executive Director South division, moves to become Stonewater’s new Executive Director Assets from 1 September, taking over from Martin Ward who is due to retire in June 2016. Martin will initially work alongside Scott until November and will then take responsibility for bespoke projects until his retirement next year.
Stonewater Chief Executive, Bob Strachan, says: "I am pleased to announce these new strategic appointments within our Executive Director Group which will create a more streamlined and responsive executive team, reflecting Stonewater’s values of being agile and commercial. I am confident the extensive knowledge, experience and expertise of the new team will enable us to achieve the merger transformation goals we have set ourselves. It will also enable us to effectively address the new operating environment established by the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he presented the Summer Budget on 8th July 2015. This is a natural step in our transformation journey and I am confident that we are prepared to meet the many new challenges which lie ahead.”
Formed by the merger of Jephson and Raglan at the beginning of this year, Stonewater manages and owns around 31,000 homes across the country, representing £1.6 billion in assets. The circa £160 million turnover organisation also has one of the UK’s most significant development programmes to help address the rising demand for housing.
