Poole young people’s foyer appeals for household basics
Quay Foyer in Hill Street, Poole is appealing to the community for kitchenware, crockery, white goods, bedding and other basic household items which are urgently needed by residents moving from the foyer into independent living over the next few months.
“We had a tremendous public response to our Christmas campaign with many generous local people going online to our Amazon wish-list to buy winter clothing and other essential items for our residents,” says Foyer Manager Chris Shaw. “Many of our residents moving into new accommodation have come from desperate situations and have little to start their new lives with. It’s a big ask but we’re hoping the community will help us again with bedding, curtains, kitchen equipment and tableware, and cleaning products.”
Quay Foyer, which is operated by social and supported housing provider Stonewater, provides accommodation, training and support to vulnerable young people in the local area with the aim of helping them to eventually live independently in the community.
