Leading national housing provider Stonewater is bringing 37 affordable homes to the area, with plans to build a range of one and two-bedroom flats, as well as two to four-bedroom houses.

The scheme has received support from Central Bedfordshire Council and is being delivered by Bellway Homes as part of a larger scheme of 165 homes in Leighton Buzzard.

Stonewater will allocate 31 homes for affordable rent to local people and offer the remaining six homes for its shared ownership scheme. Shared ownership is a part-buy part-rent scheme that gives more people the opportunity to buy a brand-new home at an affordable price.

Nestled between Luton and Milton Keynes, this well-connected development is surrounded by excellent local amenities and family attractions, as well the picturesque Chiltern Hills.

Chris Montague, Assistant Director of Development (East) at Stonewater, said: “In the last year, we’ve started work on a number of new developments across Bedfordshire as part of our vision to give everyone the opportunity to have a place that they can call home. Stonewater is, therefore, delighted to be developing these affordable homes in Leighton Buzzard alongside Bellway Homes.”

Dean Takkou, Head of Construction at Bellway Homes, said: “At Bellway Homes our colleagues pride themselves on understanding the aspirations of all our buyers, not just in the type of home that suits their needs, but in the environment in which they want to live - irrespective of budget. This is an exciting new development and we are really pleased to join forces once again with Stonewater.”
