Dudley residents celebrate retirement living scheme transformation
Residents at Chaddesley Court in Dudley celebrated the stunning refurbishment of their retirement living scheme on Thursday (15 November), enjoying a special lunch with guests including local stakeholders.
Leading housing association Stonewater’s transformation of the 49-apartment residency in Dudley is part of an ongoing £9m upgrade to its retirement living schemes across the country.
An important aspect of the refurbishment works are improvements to communal areas. Key features residents will enjoy include: brighter lighting, bespoke furniture, new decorating and floor coverings.
The significant investment will provide Stonewater’s residents with consistently high-quality environments that exceed customer expectations.
Sue Shirt, Stonewater’s Executive Director of Housing, said, “It was wonderful to spend the morning with Chaddesley Court residents, celebrating a refurbishment that truly fulfils Stonewater’s long-term vision of creating environments our residents are proud of. Housing and services for older adults are a highly important part of Stonewater’s business, and since 2016, we’ve been investing in living environments that not only meet, but exceed, the needs and aspirations of our retirement living customers.”
Joanna Gooch, Stonewater’s Assistant Director of Housing Strategy, said, “We would like to recognise the hard work that has been put in to making the transformation of Chaddesley Court a reality. I am very proud of what we have achieved here in Dudley and really hope that our existing and future residents will enjoy the enhancements we have made to the scheme.”
Chaddesley Court Resident Janet Tarplee said, “We recently moved to Chaddesley Court, we viewed a few other schemes but we had seen nothing like this one. It is beautiful here, we love it. We moved in as the scheme was being modernised and it is better than we could have imagined; the colours are vibrant and the scheme has become a hive of activity.”
