The scheme:

Six veterans worked alongside Stonewater’s contractor to build Noden’s Mews, gaining construction skills, training and experience as they built their own homes; providing them with valuable, transferable skills that they can bring to the workplace.

Named after World War One veteran Malcolm Noden, Stonewater commissioned six poppy sculptures and two commemorative benches to feature in the community garden. Several fruit trees have also been planted, alongside a herb garden and vegetable patch for residents to enjoy.

The project demonstrates how organisations can work with local councils and charities to provide much-needed new affordable homes to those who need them the most, whilst supporting the wider community.
