The event took place at Presentation House, bringing customers and their families together to enjoy the newly upgraded facilities following a £45,000 investment by Stonewater.
The improvements include £30,000 worth of new carpets across communal areas, helping to brighten and modernise the scheme, as well as a £15,000 refurbishment of the communal kitchen and laundry room.
Delivered by contractor Wates East, the works were designed to enhance day-to-day living while creating more welcoming and accessible spaces for customers to socialise.
To mark the completion of the works, customers organised a joint Eid and Easter celebration, reflecting the diversity of the community living at the scheme and making the most of the improved shared areas.

Customers have already seen the impact of the changes. Mrs Ram said: “The carpets and the colour is great. It has really brightened up the space and made it feel much more welcoming.”
Mrs Kaur added: “The scheme looks and feels much nicer, cleaner and brighter. It has made a big difference to the atmosphere and it is a much more pleasant place to spend time.”
The upgraded spaces are expected to support more regular social activities, with communal areas playing an important role in helping customers stay connected and feel part of a community.
Cynthia Knight, Scheme Manager at Presentation House, said: “This has been a really positive moment for everyone at the scheme. The improvements have encouraged customers to make the most of the communal spaces, creating more opportunities for the community to come together and feel proud of where they live.
“Bringing customers together to celebrate Eid and Easter felt like a natural way to mark the updates. It reflects the mix of people who live here and the sense of community they’ve built together.”
Presentation House is one of five Stonewater retirement living schemes in the East of England, part of a wider network of 54 schemes across the country.
Alongside physical improvements, customers have also been coming together in other ways, including a recent cookbook project with The Higgins Bedford, celebrating culture, heritage and shared experiences through food.
