Leading housing provider Stonewater has been named one of this year’s 100 Best Companies to work for in the not-for-profit category. This is the second consecutive year Stonewater has featured in the annual list, ranking eleven places higher this time at number 67.
The prestigious Sunday Times list recognises the best employers across the UK based on the views of colleagues across 60 elements, which aims to review the organisation’s training and progression options, workplace traits and an honest review of its management team.
The affordable home provider has participated in the survey since 2016 and originally set out to make the annual ranking by 2021. In addition to earning its place much earlier than planned, the organisation has also maintained a 1 star accreditation rating by Best Companies, which demonstrates Stonewater’s commitment to taking workplace engagement seriously.
With over 800 colleagues at Stonewater, the organisation offers flexible and agile working to a large number of its employees with the option of working from home, but it also has offices based in Bristol, Bournemouth, Stourbridge and Reading.
The award follows a number of accolades collected by the organisation over the last year, having been shortlisted in the UK Development Awards and UK Housing Awards, as well as winning awards at the Women in Housing ceremony and being named a Top 25 Housing Association to work for.
Nicholas Harris, Chief Executive at Stonewater, said: “To make the Best Companies list was always an ambition of Stonewater’s and while I was incredibly proud last year when we found out Stonewater had made the Best Companies list for not-for-profit, to find out we’ve done it again and actually increased our position is incredible.
"As an organisation we heavily invest into our colleagues with training and any well-being support they may need, making sure we employ people that are genuinely passionate about what they do and helping us to tackle the housing crisis. Through team action planning sessions and using your feedback, we have earned our place on the list for a second year in a row, and it demonstrates our commitment to being an employer of choice. We’ve collected a number of awards for our housing projects over the last 12 months but this award in particular, demonstrates our colleagues commitment, dedication and contribution – together making it a truly great place to work.”
