This is a great Budget for getting Britain building and one which promises to remove some of the major blockages which are stopping affordable homes from being built.

We welcome the Government’s £1.1 billion commitment to unlocking strategic sites for housebuilding, speeding up planning permissions, a focus on helping regional builders and investment in construction skills. All these measures are critical to delivering the Government’s ambitious annual 300,000 homes housebuilding target. We’re also pleased to see a commitment to helping young people get a foot on the property ladder with the removal of Stamp Duty for first time buyers, and £125 million of rent relief funding for those who are really struggling to afford their accommodation costs.
