Leading housing provider, Stonewater, is building 45 homes for rent and Shared Ownership at The Oaks, in Hayton Way, Kingsmead.

Stonewater has a long-established presence in Milton Keynes managing more than 800 affordable homes across the town.

This brand-new development will comprise a mix of houses, maisonettes and flats – with 12 of the houses specially designed so the lofts can easily be converted into an extra room.

Housebuilder, Morris Homes, is constructing the homes as part of a larger development that is bringing a total of 156 properties to the area.

It comprises 21 two-bedroom flats and 10 two-bedroom houses for affordable rent, two one-bedroom maisonettes and four one-bedroom houses for social rent, along with eight three-bedroom houses for shared ownership.

Due for completion in September 2022, the development will benefit from private gardens, communal green space and parking for residents.

Chris Montague, Director of Development (East and North) at Stonewater, said:

“We are pleased to be teaming up with Morris Homes on our third scheme together, to provide much-needed affordable housing options.

“There is huge demand for homes in and around Milton Keynes, particularly for people priced out of buying or renting on the open housing market.

“To help tackle local housing demand, our homes at The Oaks will offer a range of types of properties at different price levels. We’re also providing 12 flexible houses which have been specifically designed so the lofts can easily be turned into another habitable room. This gives our customers the flexibility to use the space as another bedroom or a home office, depending on their needs.”
