Walking

Within just a 15-minute walk you can reach the market and all its facilities. Castle Cary Community Primary School is also a 20-minute walk from Mulberry Meadows, so walking is a great way to get to school.

Cycling

Regional Cycle Network (RCN) Route 30 passes through Castle Cary. You can join it from Station Road, just 650m to the south of Mulberry Meadows at the junction with Torbay Road.

RCN Route 30 is a circular route providing access to Yeovil, South Petherton, Crewkerne and Ilminster

Public transport

Bus:

The closest unsigned bus stops are on Station Road, around 130m to the north of Mulberry Meadows.

The 667 service from Wincanton to Street via Castle Cary and
Bruton operates every two hours during the day Monday-
Saturday.

The 1/1B service from Yeovil to Shepton Mallet via Wincanton, Castle Cary and Bruton operates from Station Road twice per day.

The 646/647 service from Gillingham to Stroud College Street via Wincanton and Castle Cary operates on college days (weekdays).

Train:

Castle Cary railway station is half a mile to the north of Mulberry
Meadows, a 10-minute walk, 4-minute cycle or 2-minute journey by car.

The station provides services to Bruton, Taunton and Yeovil as well as further afield including Exeter, Weymouth, Bristol, Reading and London Paddington.

Green travel vouchers

To encourage sustainable travel, each household at Mulberry Meadows is entitled to claim Green Travel Vouchers. These vouchers should help you to reduce your car usage.

Each household at Mulberry Meadows is entitled to claim up to the following value:

  • 1 bedroom properties = £100
  • 2 bedroom properties = £150
  • 3 bedroom properties = £200
  • 4 or more bedroom properties = £250

You can claim against purchases of the following items: 

  • Raincoat
  • Waterproof trousers
  • Walking or cycling shoes
  • Cycle clothing
  • Cycle accessories (e.g. helmet, lock, pump, trailer, puncture repair kits)
  • Bus season tickets from home
  • And more.
