Tariq, a chartered accountant, joins Stonewater with broad experience of corporate finance and risk management, having worked extensively in senior leadership roles with the Department for Communities & Local Government and Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking Division. He currently works with Wandle Housing Association and management consultancy Campbell Tickell in interim management and consulting roles in housing finance, treasury, risk management and corporate governance.

“Stonewater has a demonstrable commitment to deliver more housing that people can afford,” says Tariq Kazi. “The organisation showed foresight in merging Raglan and Jephson in 2015, integrating the two and creating a successful platform that is now poised for new growth. Stonewater has a robust governance structure, strong property portfolio and healthy finances that are recognised in its external credit rating and regulatory judgements. I look forward to helping Stonewater deliver more high quality affordable homes and services to people who need them most.”

Tariq, a former magistrate, is a board member of Leasehold Advisory Service (LEASE) and holds an MCT Association of Corporate Treasurers advanced diploma.

Nicholas Harris, Stonewater’s Chief Executive, comments: “I’m delighted to welcome Tariq to the Stonewater Board and our Finance Committee. This is an exciting time for the business as we look to deliver 2,800 affordable new homes by 2022. Tariq’s extensive financial and commercial expertise and experience will be of enormous value as we embark on this ambitious housing development programme and a new phase of strategic growth. We are all looking forward to working with him.”
