Swindonians invited to shape new Community Hub services at all-week free coffee morning
Swindonians have an opportunity to shape the services of the new Swindon Community Hub in Old Town this week (4-8 June) at a Community Consultation Coffee Morning in the former Slinky Hairdresser’s building at 17 Bath Road from 10:00am to 12:00 noon.
The week-long, drop-in event is being hosted by local social housing provider Stonewater which is converting Slinky’s hair salon into a multi-purpose public space. The new hub will provide a range of community-led services and activities for adults and children of all ages. These are expected to support community health, fitness and wellbeing needs, education and skills development as well as local clubs and interest groups.
“While this project is at an early stage, we want local people to have their say in the types of services and activities they would like Swindon’s new Community Hub to provide,” says Karina Young, Stonewater Healthy Living Coordinator. “These coffee mornings are a chance for the wider community to be part of the whole renovation project. We want our new centre to bring local people together, particularly vulnerable and isolated members of the community, and provide a base for them to access vital support groups, as well as a place to meet, build friendships, learn, work and have fun.”
The Swindon Community Hub Consultation Coffee Morning runs all week, from 10am-12 noon, 4-8 June at 17 Bath Road. For more information email: firstname.lastname@example.org
