Stonewater welcomes supported housing decision
As a leading social housing provider with a wide range of supported accommodation, Stonewater welcomes the Government's decision to retain supported housing funding within the welfare system.
Sue Shirt, Stonewater Executive Director, Housing, says: “We are pleased that the Government has listened to the consultation responses and believe the announcement will provide increased stability and enhance future planning confidence within the sector. The provision of supported accommodation is critical for so many of the most vulnerable people within our society and this clarity over housing benefit will end the uncertainly which has been hanging over both accommodation providers and those who rely on our services. This is particularity good news for our young people's Foyers and our Women's Refuges, where stability, simplicity and security are so important to residents.”
