David Lockerman, Customer Experience Director at Stonewater, said:

“This is a very welcome change as it will help both our customers and our income team understand the actual balance of their rent account. This will help us better identify and support customers who may be struggling to pay their rent.

“The new “payment alignment feature” will see direct rent payments, received on behalf of customers, switch to a monthly cycle coinciding with their Universal Credit payment dates. It will give a clearer understanding of the amount of rent due as customers will see the amount of direct rent paid to us deducted from their rent account at the same time as it has been deducted from their monthly Universal Credit payment.”
