Project Assistant Volunteer

Are you motivated by a desire to help people and enhance the services we provide at our supported housing scheme in Swindon, providing accommodation for adults with either learning disabilities or mental health problems.

We’re looking for someone who is a strong team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a natural ability to teach and motivate others.

You will help to develop initiatives that encourage socialisation and engagement by participation in workshops and sessions that develop new skills. You will also work with partner health and voluntary agencies to deliver activities that promote a healthy lifestyle by providing improved knowledge and access to information. Your focus will be on reducing isolation by working with the team and individuals to help build confidence and overcome any barriers to participation and interaction.

This is a great opportunity to support your local community, meet some amazing people and help others increase their social interactions, as well has helping those most vulnerable in society to benefit from an improved range of social activity and overall wellbeing.

You will be able to gain experience in this role and also have access to e-learning and additional training.

The role involves working with vulnerable adults and as such Stonewater will require appropriate background checks, ie via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
